FAQ's
When it comes to finding a nanny, there are several options. But by far the most effective and safest option is to use a professional agency that will help you find the most qualified candidates, that will protect your family’s safety by introducing you to only carefully screened and experienced nannies, and will also save you time.
We’re glad you asked! When two families share a single nanny to care for their children, this is known as a nanny share arrangement. In most cases, the children are infants but it can work for any age.
Affordable, Quality Child Care Using a Nanny Share is substantially less expensive than hiring a nanny on your own. So, with this option, you can find an experienced, qualified nanny to provide personalized care for your little ones at an affordable cost.
Flexible schedule- A nanny share is convenient, too. If you’ve used daycare centers before, you know that they have strict policies regarding hours, statutory holidays, and sick days. With a nanny share, you and the other family can make your own rules, plan ahead, and ensure that the needs of your kids are met.
Socialization with other kids One of the main benefits parents say they like about daycares is the socialization aspect – something that is usually lost with traditional nanny experiences. But with a nanny share, your son or daughter gets to socialize with their peers in a smaller group with more dedicated attention. So, your child can learn how to share, behave and react around others.
Excellent question! The most important aspect of the process is agreeing on how the share is going to work, and this is where Two Fams and a Nanny comes in. We have helped many parents find suitable nanny share situations and saved them a significant amount of money in the long run. We offer guidance and assistance throughout the process, ensuring that you take all of the necessary steps to ensure a positive working relationship with both the nanny and the second family.
The duration of the search depends on your situation:
- If you are a family with a nanny already and we help you to find the other family, it will take us 4-8 weeks.
- If you are two families without a nanny, it will take us 4-8 weeks to find the perfect nanny based on your needs and your desires.
- If you are looking for a nanny and a family to share with, it will take us 4-12 weeks.
We’re glad you asked! Two Fams and A Nanny is extremely proud to have access to such a large local network of expert nannies. Our nannies must have at least two years of professional experience, provide us with a high school diploma or a GED, US work authorization, have a valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, auto insurance, and more. But since every situation is dynamic and unique, Two fams and a nanny gives you the power to comfortably negotiate with your nanny so that you are all satisfied.
Like other employers, parents must pay certain taxes. If a nanny earns $2,400 or more in wages Social Security and Medicare taxes must be paid by the family and the employee. The nanny is also responsible for paying her taxes as well. Nanny taxes can be a hassle and time-consuming. We currently do not handle payroll but can help make suggestions for companies that will assist with this.
